I have a bird's eye view of the boarded up corner and noticed the other week that the contractors packed up and took away their office/trailer that was parked on the sidewalk. Now that it's gone, I see no reason why that portion of the sidewalk should still be boarded up (across from Half King) -tis congested and safety issue especially when we have to walk in the street and the crosstown bus wizzes by...

Wondering who we would talk to about getting the sidewalk back?

There may be better suggestions, but perhaps you could start by calling 311. Another possibility might be Assemblyman Gottfried on 27th Street betw. 7th & 8th Aves.

I saw that happening too and in fact thought they were going to take them away. They changed them for those new orange and white plastic things, but they're just sitting there, it's turning into years, as they -- what -- wait for financing?

I've had many a time of difficulty with that narrow passage, especially if it has rained or snowed.
