well directly accross the street from that newstand on 8th ave and 25th St. where the laundromat used to be there will be a 711 opening. Looks like theywill be the next Duane Reade etc. Starbucks etc. as far as on every block as one is supposed to open also a few blocks up on 8th ave and 28th St. Do we really need 2 that close.

We don't need many of those fast food places that masquerade as food but unfortunately the smaller stores can't afford the rents and so we're stuck with the big chain stores. What's really sad is that this generation won't know the difference from the wonderful stores we used to have (sigh). By the way I noticed a sign on the store that used to have the little sausages and cheese (near the Chelsea restaurant on 23rd near 9th). It's going to be "Chelsea Pub". Bet they'll be open way before Sullivan Street Bakery ever opens!!!! I've heard that the owner of the Sullivan Street Bakery has been doing private parties in there and giving cooking lessons but he still doesn't open up, and probably doesn't give a rap about the people who really wanted that bakery to open. If he does ever open I think people should treat him the way he's treating the neighborhood.

I did ask a board member who was at the BBQ what was happening with the bakery and it was like I dont know anything, Guess as long as the sullivan st bakery is paying rent like who cares LOL

Funny, I also asked a Board member at the barbeque and he answered me like I was dirt. Have you ever had the unpleasant experience of talking to a lawyer (not that this guy is a lawyer) and they immediately put you on the defensive? That's what this ***tard sounded like. I guess they think the cooperators are only peasants who don't deserve an audience with their royal highness board members. And I didn't choose an inopportune moment to ask. The person in question was sitting alone and not eating at that point, and I asked politely. But he shot back with such anger and said. "We have more important issues and the guy is paying his rent so there's nothing we can do." I don't believe there's nothing we can do -- I think a Board that is really interested can do something to put some pressure on that owner.
