Scaffold Accident W.23rd & 8th

I heard on the news tonight that a woman was badly hurt when some scaffolding gave way on West 23rd Street near 8th Avenue. I don't believe it was a Penn South project -- I think it was on the side of the Chelsea Diner. They didn't give the woman's name. Perhaps there will be more details later.

The incident was at or near 340 West 23, just west of Leo House.

I think she's referring to the very large crane outside the corner building that's under construction on the southeast corner of 26th Street. The crane is huge, i.e., one of the highest I've ever seen, and it's pretty scary to even think of that thing ever malfunctioning.
