Question London Terrace Gardens Bathrooms? - 08-26-2009, 12:14 PM

Good Day,

I'm looking at renting a place at LTG and the apt looked very nice overall, except for the bathroom which seemed very old and like it hadn't been renovated in years. Is this standard for LTG, or do some apartments have renovated bathrooms?

I'm especially concerned about the tiles - while I don't mind the black and white floors - these tiles seemed especially old and dirty, along with the tub. For comparison, the kitchen on the other hand was fairly new. The staff didn't seem too willing to redo the bathroom. Anyone else run into this problem while renting from LTG or have any success in getting management to redo (re-tile) their bathroom?

Thanks very much for any input!

I had a friend who lived there for years. When he got his place the bathroom was pretty groddy, but believe it or not with a bottle of CLR, rubber gloves and a mask the place became 1930 again. It looked brand new. Todd had a "Reclaim my bath and kitchen" pizza party. We did it in a saturday and the charm of the original tiles was still there. So unless they are broken up, just use some elbow grease, your own and a few friends , play Cole Porter and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hi, I live in London Terrace but moved in almost 14 years ago and it still had the original bathroom. Nowadays, they renovate ALL vacant apartments. Maybe you viewed an apartment before the renovation? They should have told you it was going to be renovated; why not check with them and ask?
