My verticals in my living room were never properly installed from the get-go, and recently they basically fell down and are now propped up with a piece of lumber that one of the maintence folks graciously did for me temporarily.
Does anyone know a GOOD handyman, contracter, window person, etc. who can repair them, is reliable and does what they say they're going to do?
in the common areas (i.e. the grassy areas near the buildings?). I'm new to Penn South and was wondering if there's anything that says you can't bring a small grill (like a hibachi) down to cook a few skewers, burgers, etc.?
The real estate interests have once again won over the interest of the people of New York. Can you imagine anyone doing this near the Eiffel Tower in Paris or Big Ben in London? Millions of people in New York and New Jersey will not be able to see the Empire STate Building anymore because a building proposed on the site of the old Penta Hotel directly across from Penn Station on 7th AVenue will... I'm putting myself down for a spot. How long does it take for one to open up? And which would be the quicker list -- indoor or outdoor? (I'm guessing outdoor, but you never know...).
I was not happy to see on http://www.parentsformeganslaw.org that Building 7 has a violent registered sex offender with a high risk level mandating lifetime supervision, testing and parole. He is not allowed to be in the presence of any child under age 18. The legal restrictions on this guy are not... [Read More]
I feel sorry for the homeless, but I don't understand why they're allowed to use Penn South as a hotel. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, but it was taken this morning from my window. They sit on the benches (right under my window) all day, and then they sleep there at night. Why doesn't Penn South Security do something about this? I've even seen them urinating against the walls, they... [Read More]
I live in a 2 bedroom apartment (no terrace). My daughter is job hunting. It occurred to me that, should she be so fortunate as to find a job, her new salary might boost our combined incomes up to a level tht would trigger a surcharge.
On the other hand, if we knew the maximum income allowed for the basic carrying charge, she might be in a position to accept an attractive, though... [Read More]
And this is truly the last question I'll ask today...
I gather it takes a few years to get a parking spot in the Penn South garage -- can someone tell me how long they waited? (I don't care whether it's inside or outside -- just looking to save some money and... [Read More]
How does one go about renting those storage units on each floor? Is it a long wait to get one -- and can you get one in any building or just the one you live in?
Alternatively, what are the cheapest storage options near Penn South -- for about a closet's worth of stuff?
And is there any place to park a couple of bikes in any of the buildings?
My girlfriend and I are interested in renting an apartment in this area--specifically between 28th-31st & 7th and 9th Ave. The closer it is Penn, the better it is for us. Would anyone kindly comment on apartment rental in this neighborhood in general? Any recommendation?
