    The Museum at FIT Presents a Symposium on
    Fashion, Science, and Exploration
    Tuesday, October 10, 2017
    10 am – 5 pm
    Fashion Institute of Technology
    **Free and Open to the Public**
    WHAT: Fashion, Science and Exploration, the Fall 2017 Symposium, presented by The Museum at FIT, will examine how fashion has been influenced by discovery and investigation of the world around us.
    WHO: Speakers and topics include:
    • Dr. Valerie Steele, director and chief curator, at The Museum at FIT, will lead the program with an introduction
    • Patricia Mears, deputy director and curator, will discuss her current exhibition in depth, “Fashion from the Extreme: The Poles, Highest Peaks and Beyond”
    • Edwina Ehrman, senior exhibition curator, Victoria and Albert Museum, will discuss her upcoming exhibition, “Fashioned from Nature”
    • Norma Kamali, fashion designer, FIT alumna, in conversation with Patricia Mears
    • Lacey Flint, archivist and curator of research collections, The Explorer’s Club,
